Real Estate · New Hampshire & Maine

A Seacoast REALTORsince 2004.

Julie Bean was born in New Hampshire, spent her college years at Bates in Maine, and began her real estate career in Boulder, Colorado — before settling in Portsmouth and the Seacoast, where she has called home for more than two decades. She brings clarity to complicated transactions — and the kind of attention that makes clients call her back, decade after decade.

How Julie works

Three things every client comes back for.

01

Communication

You'll always know where you stand.

Julie returns every call the same day and answers every text the same hour. In a business where the wait for a callback can be the whole problem, that alone changes the experience.

02

Attention to detail

The parts most agents miss.

Julie reads the fine print, catches the small mistakes, and asks the questions no one else thought to ask. The details that turn a smooth closing into a stressful one — she sees them first.

03

Empathy

It's more than a transaction.

Selling a parents' home. Buying a first one. Relocating a family. Julie has done this long enough to know the transaction is rarely just a transaction, and she works accordingly.

The Practice

Twenty-two years, and clients who keep coming back.

Julie's business has been built almost entirely on repeat clients and referrals. She has now stepped back into active client work as part of Bean Group's next chapter with eXp Realty — bringing the same rigor she is known for, and the deliberate time to give each client her full attention.

Specialty

Moving to the Seacoast from out of state?

Julie is licensed in both New Hampshire and Maine, based in Portsmouth, and has helped hundreds of families make the move north — from Boston, New York, and beyond. She knows the tax differences, the school districts, the commute realities across the Piscataqua, and which neighborhoods reward the research.

  • A structured orientation call before you visit
  • A private tour route calibrated to your priorities
  • Cross-state comparisons — NH vs. Maine tax posture, school ratings, commutes
  • Introductions to trusted local partners (mortgage, legal, inspection)

The Story

From Contoocook to Bates to Boulder — and home to Portsmouth.

Julie grew up in Contoocook, a village of Hopkinton, in the quiet interior of New Hampshire. She left for Bates College in south-central Maine — four years that made Southern Maine feel as much a home as the state she was born in.

After Bates, she took a chance on Boulder, Colorado, and began her career in real estate there. It was where she learned the business — mountains, big skies, and clients who trusted a young agent with the biggest transaction of their lives.

But New Hampshire pulled her home. She settled in Portsmouth with her husband, raised a family here, and has spent more than twenty-five years walking these streets, watching this coastline shift with the tides, and quietly becoming the person other Portsmouth families call first. She still spends every free moment outdoors — the coast, the trails, the lakes to the north — and it shows in the way she talks about this place.

In their own words

What Julie's clients say.

Julie returned every call before we knew we needed to make one. She's the only agent we've worked with who felt genuinely on our side, from the first meeting through the closing week.
A Portsmouth client · Buyer
We interviewed three agents. Julie was the only one who read the condo docs cover-to-cover before our first meeting. That told us everything.
A relocation client · Moved from Boston
This is our third transaction with Julie in fifteen years. She's the only person we'll ever call — and she's now selling my mother's home as well.
